About Us

Welcome to Finnegan’s Whiskers Cat Cafe in the heart of Sudbury town centre, Suffolk.

We provide a safe and loving home for cats in need. The calm and enriching environment of our cafe allows our cats to thrive and grow. Some of our cats have been rehomed at the cafe as permanent Finnegan’s residents, whilst our foster cats are with us temporarily until we find them the perfect permanent home. Our cats come to us from our partner rescue Mel’s Rescue and from individuals who sadly need to surrender their pets.

Spending time at Finnegan’s Whiskers allows people from all walks of life to enjoy the unique benefits of pet therapy, which has been proven to ease anxiety, depression and loneliness, and serve as a distraction from the stresses and strains of everyday life. Our hope is that Finnegan’s Whiskers will bring together a community of cat lovers to share in their passion for cats.

We serve delicious homemade cakes, brownies, cold savoury pastries and hot and cold drinks from small, local, ethical suppliers; for you to enjoy in our calm and stylish setting. Our entry fee of £6.50 per person per hour goes towards maintaining the highest levels of welfare for our cats.

We look forward to welcoming you to Finnegan’s Whiskers in Sudbury, Suffolk’s only Cat Cafe.

Visiting Us

  • We charge an entry fee of £6.50 per person per hour. This fee goes towards maintaining the highest level of welfare for our cats. As you can imagine we get through a lot of cat food and litter!
  • Please make sure you have read and understand our house rules, which are in place to protect the wellbeing of our cats.
  • We have a strict minimum age limit for children of 8+ years, as we aim to create a calm, relaxing environment for our cats and our customers. When visiting with your children aged 8+, we ask that you please supervise them closely. There must be a minimum of one adult to every two children.
  • We have a maximum limit of 6 people per booking.
  • Please arrive in time for the start of your booked slot so that we have time to let you in and get you seated comfortably. If you arrive late we are unlikely to be able to extend the length of your stay.
  • We recommend you book your slot online in advance of your visit to avoid disappointment. We will accommodate walk-ins wherever possible, but this will be subject to availability.
  • You will be asked to remove your shoes in the lobby so please bring socks with you, or slippers if you really want to feel at home like our staff. Alternatively, we will provide shoe covers. • If you would like to extend your visit once inside the cafe please speak to a member of staff and we will accommodate this where possible.
  • Full payment for each member of the party will be taken at the time of booking. If you need to cancel your booking we will require a minimum of 24 hours notice in order to issue a refund.
  • Food and drink ordered inside the cafe is paid for on the day.
  • We are located in Sudbury Town centre and do not have parking on site, but there are public car parks close by, which offer free parking for up to 3 hours including Girling Street, North Street and Station Road.
